Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the IMDGo website and member tool (“IMDGo”, “we”, “us”) collect, use and protect your information when you use this site. IMDGo is a maritime reference tool published by MarinersLink.com. By creating an account or using the tool you agree to the practices described here.

Who we are

IMDGo is built and operated by Rino Casio, founder of MarinersLink.com, as an IMDG Code segregation and reference aid for seafarers and shore staff. For any privacy question you can reach us through our contact page.

Information we collect

Account information

When you register for a free member account we collect the name, username and email address you provide, together with the password you choose. Your password is never stored in readable form — it is salted and hashed by WordPress before being saved.

Information stored on your device

The tool is designed to keep your work with you. Segregation checks, list filters and display preferences are saved locally in your browser using localStorage on your own device. This on-device data is not transmitted to us and we cannot read it; clearing your browser storage removes it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical data when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time. This is used to operate the service securely and diagnose problems.

Bot protection

Our login and registration forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans and automated bots apart. To perform this check, Cloudflare processes a challenge token and limited technical information (including your IP address). Turnstile is privacy-focused and does not track you across websites. See Cloudflare’s privacy notice for details.

How we use your information

  • To create and maintain your member account and give you access to the tool.
  • To greet you by name and show your account details when you are signed in.
  • To keep accounts and the website secure and to prevent abuse, fraud and automated attacks.
  • To operate, maintain and improve the service and respond to your enquiries.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use only the cookies needed to run the site. When you sign in, WordPress sets authentication cookies so you stay logged in across pages; ticking “keep me signed in” extends how long they last. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a short-lived token while it runs its check. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How your information is shared

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make IMDGo work, and only as needed to provide the service:

  • Web hosting — stores the website and account database on our behalf.
  • Cloudflare — provides bot protection (Turnstile) and content delivery.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the service.

Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal account data, except where we are required to retain certain records to meet a legal obligation. On-device data lives only in your browser and is under your control.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information held in your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the Philippine Data Privacy Act. To exercise any of these, contact us through our contact page and we will respond within a reasonable time. You can also clear your on-device data at any time by clearing your browser storage.

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and bot protection on account forms. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to safeguard your data.

Children’s privacy

IMDGo is a professional maritime tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

International users

IMDGo is operated from the Philippines and used by seafarers worldwide. If you access the service from another country, your information may be processed in countries whose data protection laws differ from your own. By using IMDGo you consent to this processing.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to third-party websites, such as MarinersLink.com and official IMO resources. This policy does not cover those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy notices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear on the site. Your continued use of IMDGo after an update means you accept the revised policy.
